Meet Teniah

Every experience was preparing me for where I am today.

Some women do not find their purpose all at once. Sometimes purpose is hidden inside every job, every pivot, every heartbreak, every lesson, and every season that did not make sense until later.

For Dr. Teniah Avent, the journey to purpose was not a straight line. She explored different passions, pursued different paths, earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, and worked across sports, wellness, management, events, and fitness spaces. Each experience seemed separate at the time, but looking back, every chapter was quietly preparing her for the work she was meant to do.

Today, through STRETCH X: The Ultimate Stretching Xperience, Dr. Teniah is building a wellness brand rooted in movement, recovery, connection, and healing. Her fire is The Career Glow-Up — and her story is a reminder that sometimes the thing you were born to do finds you after you stop forcing yourself to fit everywhere else.

Tell us your story. What have you overcome, rebuilt, created, survived, or stepped into?

Dr. Teniah Avent: One thing I have recently come to realize and fully step into is my purpose. Throughout my life, I’ve worked various jobs and pursued fields of study without truly knowing whether they aligned with what I was meant to do long term. It wasn’t until about six months ago that I finally discovered what my true purpose is.

At one point, I believed that because I excelled in chemistry, I was meant to become a pharmacist. Later, because I loved organizing events and creating memorable experiences, I thought event planning was my passion.

I eventually earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy, but even after graduating, my journey continued through a variety of sports, wellness, and management roles. I worked in gym and wellness studio management, tennis tournament court support management, and even NASCAR.

Looking back now, I realize every experience was preparing me for where I am today.

Four years ago, almost on a whim and inspired by a suggestion from a client at a wellness center I managed, I created a concierge wellness company focused on stretching. Given my background in physical therapy, it felt like a natural fit. What I didn’t realize at the time was that this would become one of the most pivotal decisions of my life.

The more I researched stretching, practiced on friends, explored movement, recovery, and wellness, the more fascinated I became. As my company grew and I participated in more wellness and fitness events, I realized something important: not only was I good at stretching, I genuinely loved it.

Fast forward four years later, and I now understand that what I do goes far beyond simply stretching people. I build connections. I help people feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally. I find deep joy in sharing my energy, knowledge, and healing touch with others through my hands.

I have finally discovered my purpose and what I am meant to give to the world.

I am a healer.

At your lowest point, what did life feel like for you emotionally and mentally? When did you decide to make a change?

Dr. Teniah Avent: About three years ago, I experienced a very painful breakup. The relationship was filled with stress, anxiety, and emotional instability.

I was with someone who often played on my spirit and emotions, and over time, I became the type of person who constantly put her own feelings aside just to make the other person feel happy, secure, and comfortable. I gave so much of myself that somewhere along the way, I lost myself completely in a relationship with someone whose energy was not kind to my soul.

When the relationship ended, it left behind a broken spirit, unresolved financial burdens, and a diminished sense of self-confidence. I felt lost. I constantly questioned myself:

Where did I go wrong?
Why wasn’t I enough?

Those thoughts weighed heavily on my heart.

But I knew I could not remain in that place of doubt forever. I began turning inward through meditation, positive self-talk, and intentional healing. With the encouragement and support of my family and close friends, I slowly began believing in myself again.

Piece by piece, I rediscovered the woman I had always been beneath the pain: fun-loving, confident, resilient, and unapologetically myself.

Today, I stand stronger, wiser, and more aligned with who I truly am.

What is one life lesson you learned that other women need to hear?

Dr. Teniah Avent: One life lesson I’ve learned that other women need to hear is that you don’t always have to have it all figured out, and it’s okay if you don’t.

What quote, mantra, or scripture do you live by?

Dr. Teniah Avent: Do it.

Do it now.

Do it scared.

Do it unapologetically.

Just do it.

What advice would you give to a woman who feels stuck right now?

Dr. Teniah Avent: Just take the first step. That’s where it all starts.

What is one tip you would give to women building a business or career?

Dr. Teniah Avent: Professional development is so vital. You have to pour into yourself first before you can pour into anyone or anything else.

Also, follow your passion. Don’t care about the opinions of others, and do it unapologetically.

I can’t stress that enough.

What are you currently building, working on, or proud of?

Dr. Teniah Avent: I am currently building my wellness empire, and I take pride in every decision that moves me one step closer to my vision.

I embrace both the person I must become and the journey I am on to achieve my goals and evolve into the highest, most accomplished version of myself.

Every challenge, lesson, and sacrifice is shaping me into the woman I am destined to be.

Dr. Teniah’s story is proof that purpose does not always arrive with a map. Sometimes it shows up through the career detours, the hard endings, the heartbreaks, the risks, and the quiet moments when a woman finally listens to what has been calling her all along.

Her journey from uncertainty to alignment was not accidental. Every role, every field, every lesson, and every painful chapter helped shape the healer she is today. Through STRETCH X, Dr. Teniah is not just helping people stretch their bodies. She is helping them reconnect, recover, release, and feel better from the inside out.

Her glow-up is not just professional.

It is personal.

It is purposeful.

And it is unapologetic.
