From heartbreak and loss to rebuilding through faith, Danielle’s story is a reminder that healing is not always linear — but what tried to break you can become the very thing that gives your life purpose.

The Comeback

Meet Danielle Forbes

“Healing rarely looks pretty, because it’s not a straight line.”

Some women do not just survive their hardest seasons — they turn them into testimony. For Danielle Forbes, the journey has not been perfect, polished, or easy. It has been filled with heartbreak, loss, disappointment, rebuilding, and moments where giving up felt easier than trying again.

But through every chapter, Danielle has held onto her faith. Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Danielle is building Danielle Forbes Pain to Purpose, a platform rooted in faith, storytelling, and helping others see that even the most painful seasons can become part of something greater.

Tell us your story. What have you overcome, rebuilt, created, survived, or stepped into?

Danielle Forbes: My story is still being written.

The highs, the lows, and everything in between — we will experience that until the day the good Lord calls us home. But I have overcome everything that the enemy sent to destroy me.

Everything from a broken engagement, broken friendships, poverty, loss of employment, and some things that God has just blocked from my memory because it was just too painful for me to reminisce about. God loves us so much that He will do that for us.

At your lowest point, what did life feel like for you emotionally and mentally? When did you decide to make a change?

Danielle Forbes: At my lowest point, life felt like it was over.

I think my lowest point was when my grandfather passed away because he was my number one fan. He was one of the only people who really believed in me and saw my potential. He saw how big I could be, and I still have a hard time to this day seeing it myself.

But everything that I’ve done to accomplish my goals, I’ve always had him in the back of my mind. He truly saw my potential at an early age and did everything in his power to make me see it as well.

If I’m being honest, some of the thoughts that I was having at one of the lowest points in my life were just giving up. Just rolling over and playing dead. Giving up on myself, my dreams, and  my aspirations, because loss of any kind will have that effect on you.

What did rebuilding your life actually look like day to day? What was the hardest part of starting over?

Danielle Forbes: The hardest part of rebuilding my life and starting over was honestly just believing in myself again after heartbreak and loss.

It didn’t look pretty at all. Healing rarely does, because it’s not a straight line. There are ups and downs. There are days that you don’t want to do anything. You don’t want to do your hair. You isolate. You lose weight, you gain weight, you lose friends, you gain friends. You cry. You feel sorry for yourself.

Then you have the highs that make you feel like you are on top of the world, and then you have lows to the point where you can barely get out of bed.

What is one life lesson you learned that other women need to hear?

Danielle Forbes: The one life lesson that I learned that I would share with any woman who has faced heartbreak, or is facing it at the moment, would be to trust yourself — but more importantly, trust God to bring you out on the other side.

If I was not a woman of faith, I really don’t know where I would be.

What quote, mantra, or scripture do you live by?

Danielle Forbes: One of my favorite scriptures in the Bible is, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Another one is, “And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.”

What advice would you give to a woman who feels stuck right now?

Danielle Forbes: The advice I would give to a woman who feels stuck right now is to be nice to yourself. Give yourself grace. We all have times when we feel stuck. Even people who seem to have it all together feel stuck at times. It’s natural.

Give yourself grace, and allow yourself to have those days to grieve and feel everything that you’re feeling. It’s okay to get stuck — just don’t stay there.

What is one tip you would give to women building a business or career?

Danielle Forbes: One tip that I would give to a woman who is aspiring to build a business or a career would be to count the cost of building that business.

And what I mean by the cost is not just financially. Mentally, physically, emotionally — all of that will go into whatever business or career path you choose.

What are you currently building, working on, or proud of?

Danielle Forbes: I am constantly working and building something. One thing I have to remind myself to do is stop and smell the roses, because I am guilty of accomplishing one goal and immediately working on the next without taking a moment to enjoy the fruits of my labor.

I am currently working on the platform that God has already given me to reach people with the gospel.

In addition to being a speaker, I am a flight attendant, a published author, a film producer, and I have found a new love for being a DJ. I am also in the works of part two of my Christian-based fiction thriller, Destiny: A Love Story Gone Wrong, which I plan on filming in the first quarter of 2027.

Danielle’s story is a reminder that healing is not always beautiful while it is happening. Sometimes it looks like grief. Sometimes it looks like starting over with a broken heart. Sometimes it looks like believing in yourself only because someone you loved believed in you first.

But Danielle is not allowing loss to be the end of her story. She is building from it. She is creating from it. She is turning pain into purpose, one chapter at a time.

Her comeback is not just about what she has survived. It is about what she is still becoming.
